Two people arrested for throwing ‘decorative’ wall shelves at a suburban Minneapolis home

Two people have been arrested after a suburban Minnesota homeowner found a wall shelf covered in decorative artwork on her home’s back porch.

The incident occurred around 8 p.m.

Tuesday when a neighbor noticed a pile of white plastic trash in the backyard of a home on the 3100 block of West Belmont Avenue, police said.

The neighbor alerted police, who then went inside and located the furniture.

Officers found two men, ages 19 and 20, sitting on the floor, with the two men also dressed in black clothes.

They were arrested on a charge of criminal mischief and obstruction of commerce, and they were taken to the Ramsey County Jail.

The woman said she was upset about the artwork and took it home to display it, and police said the furniture was “decorative” and was found in the yard.
